May, 22 th – San Cristobal | Isla Lobos
After a 3-hour flight from Quito with a middle stop in Guayaquil finally we arrived in Puerto Baquerizo – San Cristobal
A short transfer to the pier and 30 minute- sail to Isla Lobos we started our visit with a Panga ride around the islet then going along the cost of San Cristobal. Nice place where to see frigate birds, some blue-footed boobies and sea lions.
May, 23 th – Española
The highlight of our trip !! An early visit in the morning in Punta Suarez through a rocky trail where we saw lots o sea lions, swallow tailed-gulls, nazca boobies, blue footed boobies, Galapagos hawks and the unique albatross. Incredible visit!
Next activity… deep water snorkel near by Gardner Islet, sea lions joined us in the water, playfull animals and very very curious ! We saw many Damsel fishes, King angel fishes, Sargent fishes and the endemic black-stripped Salema.
To finish with this wonderful journey, a wet landing in Gardner Bay… a huge conoly of sea lions and some time for your own… What do you discover there?
May, 24th, Floreana
Post Office Bay in the morning. We started with a long panga ride around The Baroness view point looking for the most incredible and unique wildlife. We saw lots of sea lions, some rays, marine turtles and Galapagos pinguins. Then a wet landing in the Post Office bay where we walk along the beach approaching the mail box established on the Galapagos by Captain Colnett in the 18th century.
Remember the stories about pirates, whalers, Ecuadorians, Norwegians and the most interesting part… Germans ! Dr Rither, the Wittmer family, the Baroness and her lovers …
In the afternoon, the most spectacular snorkel in Devil’s Crown with colorful fishes, sea lions white tip reef sharks and much more!
In the afternoon wet landing on Punta Cormorant walking around to discover the wonders of Floreana. Green sand beach with olivine cristals, some Darwin daisies, Scalesias, Galapagos Lantanas and to close with this daily adventure… on the south a white sand beach with sting rays and turtles!
May, 25th, Santa Fe + South Plazas
A journey observing Land Iguanas. In the morning our first visit started with Santa Fe; a rocky trail with an incredible landscape where we saw lots of Opuntia Cactus. Along the trail some Santa Fe Land Iguanas unique of this ecosystem that have been adapted to those extreme conditions. Then snorkel with sea lions, sting rays and marine turtles. Sailing time to South Plazas.
A dry landing on a rock pier where we discover on of the most important colonies of Galapagos Land Iguanas, unique specie in the Islands contrasting with a cactus forest and reddish, greenish Sesuvium.
May, 26th, Santa Cruz
Our last stop visiting the Charles Darwin Station… Early departure to see the famous Galapagos Giant Tortoises. Three different species raised in captivity to restore the enormous populations that Galapagos used to have. Time to take some pictures of Lonesome George, Diego and lots of Santa Cruz Tortoises.
